Synchronous Machines Stability:-Add Me as Your Friend On FacebookAny machines system is said to be stable if, under steady state , when its is operating in equilibrium and the sight disturbance does not effect stable operation .the term equilibrium denotes the power balance between the output power to input powers. A synchronous machines connected to an infinite bus bar is said to be working machine in stable condition, when if its is in synchronism or in step with bus. Unstable operation denotes loss of synchronism or falling out of step.

Transient stability limit:-
Transient stability limits is more importnace since :-
The Tendency of synchronous machine to develop forces so as to maintain synchronism and equilibrium called stability
Stability Limit:-
A stability limit represent the maximum power flow possible , when the synchronous machine is operating with stability.
The term stablity and stability limit both are applicable to steady -state and transient condition of synchronous machines.
Its pertains to maximum power flow possible through a particular point without loss of stability , when the power is increased very gradually..
1- Synchronous machines excitation should be increased, so that Ef becomes More
2- Reactance should be decreased , eg- Two Transmission lines in parallel would reduce the line reactance to half
3- Series capacitor may be used to reduce the line reactance.
Its is refer to the maximum power flow possible through a point without loss of stability , when a sudden disturbance occur . Sometime transient disturbance which is cause of sudden increment of load, may cause the loss of stability because of its suddenly the disturbance foe which the transient stability limits is desired to be know. are caused by switching in or out some circuit in a supply system,
or a sudden increment of shaft load.
1- Its is lower than steady state stability limit
2- The transient disturbance are more common.
