Speed Control Of DC motor.

Speed can be control manually or automatically

As we know Dc motor is most suitable for variable speed function and can be control by wide range speed control method.

As we know the speed of dc motor is

wn = Vt- IaRa/Ka $

These are following methods that can be used to control the speed of dc machine.

·         Variation of armature resistance circuit:-We put a resistance with armature circuit which lead to control the high speed of Motor

·         Variation of field flux:-In This method we vary the filed regulating resistance This is simple method and we are using it in modern machine speed control

·         Variation of armature terminal voltage:- In This method we varies armature terminal voltage Vt and hence the speed of Machine can be control .
